Turn off the video preview and solve the Windows XP suspended animation

Some time ago, as soon as I opened the folder with video files in the newly installed Windows XP SP2 operating system, the symptoms of system suspended animation often occurred. No window responds. Then you can only press the "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" key combination to bring up the task manager that comes with the operating system, and use it to force the folder window to close to make the system back to normal. To this end, the author is puzzled: Why do you have this system of suspended animation when you open a folder with video files?

After repeated research, the author found that all this is actually a video preview. As long as the video preview function of the system is turned off, you can successfully solve the system suspended animation after opening the folder with video.

In Windows XP, the preview function of the video file is mainly because the dynamic link file "shmedia.dll" is working. We just need to open the "Start → Run" command and enter "" in the "Run" field. Regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll", and then click the "OK" button, when the "Shll.register DllUnregisterServer succeeded" prompt box, you can successfully disable the video preview function. If you plan to restore the preview function in the future, just type "regsvr32 shmedia.dll".
