Accelerate system shutdown Let leave no longer wait

Friends who use old machines and laptops, I am afraid it is difficult to tolerate the system startup process that is slow and mad. Even after trying all kinds of optimization cheats and using all the optimization software, Windows XP is still a slow start, and the slow shutdown is frustrating. In fact, Windows XP has already prepared a shortcut for you to quickly switch on and off, it is standby and hibernation.

First, the shutdown acceleration one-click standby

Open the "Control Panel" → "Power Options", select the "Advanced" tab, set the "When the computer power button is pressed" drop-down here Menu, where you can select “sleep” or “standby”. Once the settings are applied, you can use one-click standby. For example, before work, there is a work to be continued tomorrow. Just press the power button on the chassis and you can leave work. The next day, press the power button to quickly enter the system and continue the work that was not completed yesterday.

When recovering from standby, you may be sneaked into the data on your computer. In this regard, in the "Advanced" tab, check the "Require password when the computer resumes from standby" item, add a security protection for standby.

Second, create a "Sleep" sleep button

First in the "Power Options" dialog box, the "Hibernate" tab, check the "Enable hibernation" function. Then right click on the desktop, select "New" → "Shortcut" in the pop-up menu, enter "rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState" command in the "Create Shortcut" dialog box. Click Next to enter Hibernate in the Select Program Title dialog. After “Complete”, right click on the “Hibernate” shortcut on the desktop, open the dialog box and select the “Shortcut” tab. In the “Shortcut”, press your favorite shortcut key, such as “F8”. Once set, simply press the “F8” button to achieve one-button sleep.

Third, reasonable setting of standby power

Many times, just leave the computer temporarily, then there is no need to turn off the power of most hardware devices, such as USB interface, network card, mouse and other equipment, This will improve the recovery speed.

Take the network card as an example, open the "Device Manager", right click on the NIC project, select the "Properties" command in the pop-up menu to open the property settings dialog. Select the "Power Management" tab, here to cancel the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Fourth, the standby state can also turn off the power

Normal standby method can not turn off the power Because the data is stored in memory, once it is shut down, it will cause data loss. To shut down, only sleep is used, but sleep starts longer. If you use the STR technology of the motherboard power supply, you can turn off the power while in standby, and it takes only a few seconds to restore the computer to work.

Most motherboards support STR technology. Take the Soyuz SY-I5PRLE motherboard as an example. After booting, go to the CMOS setup page and select Power Management Setup. After entering, find the "ACPI Suspend Type" item, set it to "S3 (STR)" mode, and save the CMOS settings. When the standby is used in the future, the power of the chassis will be automatically turned off. When the power button of the chassis is pressed, the system can be restored to the saved state during standby at high speed.

When using STR technology for standby, do not cut off the power supply of the motherboard, otherwise the saved data will be lost. In addition, remind everyone to wake up the system through the mouse and keyboard in the standby state, then set in CMOS, set "PS /S KB /MS Wake up From S3-S5" to "Enable".

V. Solving the problem of standby automatic recovery

When the system is in standby, it will automatically resume from the standby state from time to time, and automatically enter the standby state. Most of this problem is caused by improper power settings of the network card. To do this, you can expand the "Network Adapter" in the "Device Manager", double-click the NIC item to open the Properties window, in the "Power Management" tab, uncheck "Allow this device to take the computer out of standby" .

Sixth, speed up for sleep standby

When using hibernation and standby, pay attention to some matters. For example, if the system uses hibernation for a long time, the data in the memory will not be cleared, which will make Windows XP run slower. At this time, you can use the memory tool like "Freemem" to sort out.

If you save a working file before hibernation, temporary files and data are released, which greatly increases the speed of hibernation and recovery, and enhances data security during recovery. In addition, properly increase the system disk space capacity, open the DMA channel of the disk, and dial external devices such as USB before hibernation and standby, which can effectively improve the speed and stability of sleep and standby.
