Home Edition Win XP system installation IIS configuration skills

Many branded and notebook users are pre-installed with genuine Windows XP, but most of their versions are Home Edition, not Professional. In the home version, it is impossible to install IIS, so many friends who do web design can not test on this machine. In fact, we can make the necessary changes to it, so that it can also install IIS.

First open the C:\\Windows\\inf\\sysoc.inf file with Notepad, and find a line under the [Components] "iis= iis.dll, OcEntry, iis.inf, hide, 7". It is replaced with "iis=iis2.dll, OcEntry, iis2.inf,,7" to save the changes to the file.

Next, find a Windows 2000 Professional installation CD (do not use the Windows XP Professional installation CD), copy the iss.dl_ and iss.in_ files from the I386 directory of the CD to the hard disk, and then After installing WinRAR, right click on the two files and select "Extract to current location", and rename the extracted "iis.dll" and "iis.inf" to "iis2.dll" and "iis2.inf" respectively. Also copy them to the "C:\\Windows\\system32\\setup\\" and "C:\\Windows\\inf\\" directories.

After the replacement is successful, IT Stargo reminds everyone to open the "Add/Remove Programs" item, click the "Add/Remove Windows Components" button on the left, and select "Internet Information Service" in the open installation wizard. (IIS)", then click the "Details" button to cancel the "SMTP Service" item. Others can be selected as needed. After the selection, the file can be copied.

After the installation is successful, we can go to the "Administrative Tools" folder of the control panel and see the "Internet Information Service Management" inside, indicating that we have successfully installed.
