They are only minor problems. As long as we use our brains, we can solve these problems without having to reinstall the entire operating system. In addition to saving a lot of time, Windows is currently divided into 2000/XP NT-based series and Windows 9x/Me series. Therefore, we will separately describe them.

Windows 2000/XP

1.Using the last configuration

Windows 2000/XP will automatically back up the registry every time it starts, if we find that the system is unstable or even Can not start properly, you can restart the machine, and press the F8 key when the "Starting Windows" message prompts, select "Last Known Good Configuration" to try, can not solve the problem.

2. New User

If Windows starts to become unstable, you can try to open the "Control Panel", double-click the "User and Password" item, and click "Add" in the open window. Button, then enter a new username, such as newuser. Next, click Next and enter your password. Also, choose to add the user to the Administrators group.

Then copy some shortcuts on the desktop to a temporary folder, click "Start → Close", then select "Logout xxx" (xxx represents the current user) command to log out the current user , then enter the newly created username and password to log in to the system as the user. Then copy some shortcuts copied to the temporary folder to the new user's desktop. In general, the machine will become more stable and can be used for a while.

2.SFC scan recovery system file

Press Win R, type sfc /scannow, it will automatically scan the system file, if it encounters damage, or finds an incorrect version, We will automatically prompt us to insert the disc and repair the system.

SFC is actually a system file checker that comes with Windows. With it, there are a lot less things when you reinstall the operating system when there are several small files corrupted.

3.Restore with the installation disk

Put the Windows 2000/XP CD into the CD-ROM drive, restart the computer, and at startup, press the Del key to enter the BIOS setup program, setting the priority from The CD is booted. Press any key while the Press any key to boot from CD... message appears. After a while, you can see the Windows installation CD booting the machine and see the interface shown.

Press Enter, the Windows installation CD will search for the system installed on the current machine, and will prompt us to recover after finding it. After the recovery is complete, remove the Windows XP CD and reboot the system.

4. Use the system preparation tool

Insert the Windows installation CD into the CD-ROM drive, open the SUPPORTTOOLS folder, double-click the DEPLOY.CAB file, and extract all the files to a folder. Next (eg C:Sysprep), double-click on the sysprep.exe file and press the "OK" button to accept the warning message. And select the "Do not reset active grace period", "Use minimized installation" and "Detect non-Plug and Play hardware" check boxes in the window. Press the "Reclose" button and the machine will automatically turn off.

After restarting the computer, Windows XP will let us accept the protocol and ask for the serial number, and then make some necessary settings to use.


Tips
★ Everyone should note that if you are operating in Windows 2000, then the tool will only show a warning dialog at the beginning, once you accept it, you can't go back operating.
