Windows XP After upgrading SP2, there are several problems

We have been paying attention to SP2. At that time, the official Chinese version has not yet come out. In early August, with the official release of the Simplified Chinese version of SP2, users who have been trying to install SP2 will definitely Flocking. We have already said that because SP2 is a follow-up patch product, it will inevitably conflict with some software, so SP2 is installed, and there are not many problems.

(1) Q: After installing SP2, I found that the verification codes on some websites could not be displayed. They are all displayed by red cross. Some website registrations can't be done now. How can I recover?

A: This is because these captcha images are in XBM format, and SP2 does not support this image format. You can improve this error by modifying the registry, open the registry, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Internet Explorer\\Security, create a new Dword value BlockXBM, and keep the value back to 00000000 ie "BlockXBM"=dword:00000000, close the registry Editor, the verification code can be displayed after restarting IE.

(2) Q: After I installed SP2, I found that many links could not be opened with IE. After clicking, a green small exclamation mark did not reflect. In the past, these websites were no problem. It is also useless to reset IE. How can I solve it?

A: As far as the current situation is concerned, many people have reported that after upgrading to SP2, the browser cannot access the webpage. This is mainly because SP2 adds a shield for malicious websites, if you install some IE plugins. , will make SP2 shield error, 3721 Internet Assistant plug-in and java virtual machine plug-in may cause such problems, it is recommended that you remove these plug-ins before installing SP2 and then install.

(3) Q: After downloading and installing SP2, I found that the firewall that comes with it is displayed in red. When I open it, I see that it does not detect anti-virus software in the computer, but I installed Kingsoft Internet Security. Ah, can you let SP2 recognize it? Rising can be installed by another friend. Why is this?

Answer: SP2 can not identify anti-virus software. It needs to be approved by anti-virus vendors and Microsoft. Some anti-virus software is not in the identification column, so it is still not recognized. However, I believe that it will not be long before the well-known anti-virus software will be supported, remember to update the anti-virus software in time. In addition, those software and games that can't run normally under SP2 are mostly unable to support SP2. You can go online to see if these software and games have released patches that support SP2.

(4) Q: After installing SP2, some software can not be upgraded, such as how to upgrade some anti-virus software. How can I solve it?

A: Because SP2's security is relatively high, all the programs may be stricter in terms of permissions. The software vendors have not had time to launch patches for SP2, so we can only manually modify them now. If you are unable to operate the upgrade, you can try to set the permissions manually. In operation, enter "ldcom;dcomcnfg.exe" to open the component service window, and then find "<; console root directory → component service → computer → my computer & rarr; DCOM configuration", find the KvShell item (used by KV) ), right-click on its properties, select “Security", under "Startup & Activation Permissions", select “Customize”, then click “Edit”, in the pop-up "Startup Permissions" In the dialog box, add your Windows login account and system account. Both accounts are set to “local activation”, and finally “determine”. If other software can't be upgraded, you can also try to modify its Dcom.

(5) Q: The default security level in IE is intermediate, but you can't manually lower the level. You can only increase it. Can't you lower it?

Answer: SP2 is safe to do this. If you want to lower the security level, you can modify the registry implementation, and then find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\Zones\\ 3, change the MinLevel on the right to 10000 (hexadecimal), exit the registry and restart the computer.
