How to solve the problem of mutual access between xp and Windows 98 computer

Nowadays, the computer system is really different. Many users do not use the same system, but what if users want to access their respective computers? A lot of users complained that computers with Windows XP installed on the LAN could not be accessed by computers with Windows 98 installed. Computers with Windows XP and computers with Windows XP could not communicate with each other.

I have seen many masters offer the following four points: one is to open the GUEST account; the other is to install the NetBEUI protocol; the third is to check whether the local security policy settings disable the GUEST account; the fourth is to set up sharing folder. However, even if these four points are done, sometimes the problem of mutual access to Windows XP cannot be solved. Because you want to achieve mutual access in Windows XP, you need to set this step:

Right-click on "My Computer" on the Windows desktop, select "Properties", and then click “ The computer name & rdquo; tab, see if there is a LAN workgroup name in the tab, such as <;TL2000” and so on. Then click the “Network ID” button to start the “Network Identification Wizard”: Click “Next” to select “This unit is part of the commercial network and use it to connect to other working computers”. Click ““Next” to select “The company uses a network without domain”; click the “Next” button and enter the name of your LAN workgroup, such as “TL2000”, again Click the “Next” button and finally click the “Finish” button to complete the setup.

After restarting the computer, the computers on the LAN can be accessed.

Nowadays, I need to visit each other's computers. If the system is different, mutual visits will be a bit of a hassle. But now the problem is solved. It is very convenient to exchange visits. If there is a need for this function, users can use it. The above method to do it.
