XP system download system ported to virtual machine

Reinstalling the system is indeed the most annoying thing for all computer users. Whether it is XP or WIN7, now you don't need to install the system, it is XP system download or WIN7 system download, ordinary network speed has to let you wait. Long time. There are a series of operations that follow. Annoying!! In addition to buying a new computer to install a system, usually upgrade some of the main components, such as the motherboard, CPU and the like, the same reinstall system. System weight After loading, the speed can generally be faster, but this will also cause some of the software that is usually used, such as browser, QQ, etc., all personal settings are lost.

Long XP system download, or WIN7 system After downloading, the real troubles have just begun. Is there no good solution? The answer is definitely there. The "transportation" is popular for dealing with such problems. Transplantation is not a simple cloning system. You know, if you upgrade your computer components and then clone the system, there is a possibility that "exclusive", the computer is really more and more like a human. This situation will cause a blue screen or a crash or even fail to start.

So, who is going to transplant? We will introduce the famous doctor in IT industry - Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server (Enterprise Server Edition of the famous backup software, hereinafter referred to as ATI) and its right hand & mdash; — Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server Universal Restore ( ATI Universal Restore Suite, hereinafter referred to as UR), allows them to help us achieve a perfect migration of the system. Let you only do an XP system download or WIN7 system download.

Love Win7, port the old system to the virtual machine< Br>

After upgrading your computer configuration or purchasing a new computer, many users will choose to install a new Windows 7 (hereafter referred to as Win7) system. In addition to the original system and software settings, some of the software in the original system may not run in the Win7 system. Earlier we talked about using virtual machines to solve this problem, but how to port the old computer software and information to the virtual machine has not been said. Below, we will convert the old system including software into a virtual machine hard disk file through ATI, and then load the hard disk file in the virtual machine, and the hardware information of the original system has been removed at the same time of conversion, so there is no problem in use. .

Backing up the old system Converting the file format

Install and start ATI on the old computer, select “Backup” (backup, interface as shown in Figure 1), follow the prompts. It should be noted that the backup type should select “My Computer” because the entire system partition needs to be backed up instead of the file. In addition, in order to speed up the backup and reduce the size of the backup file, it is best to set some useless temporary files, page files and hibernation files to not be backed up.

After the backup is completed, go to the menu "Tools→ Convert Backup To Virtual Disk" to convert the format, select the backup file to be converted and then select the virtual machine hard disk type (here select the virtual machine VMware), the conversion speed Soon, it will be completed in a few minutes.

Run the virtual machine to load the old system

Install and start the virtual machine software VMware 7.0 on the new computer, select "New virtual machine", follow the prompts to create a system with the old computer A virtual machine of the same type. In the case that the virtual machine is shut down, enter "Edit Virtual Machine Settings", delete the original hard disk, and then add the virtual hard disk file that has just been converted. The virtual hard disk is added successfully, and there is no difference, just in When adding, a prompt box for converting the hard disk file to the new format will appear. If the version of VMware used is 6.5-7.0, it is recommended to select the conversion, so that the hard disk is more efficient.

Tips: Note that if you convert the hard disk format, virtual machines with VMware 6.5 or lower will not be able to use the converted hard disk files.

Now the virtual machine can not be started immediately, because the virtual machine hard disk is in the slave disk position, we have to select the virtual hard disk, enter the "Advanced" option, will "virtual device node" Change from “IDE 0:1” to “IDE 0:0”, from the slave to the master, the virtual machine can be started. After startup, it will search and automatically install some hardware drivers. After that, the system and software will be installed. Can be used normally, the same as the original old computer (as shown in Figure 2), and if the host can access the Internet, the virtual machine can also access the Internet.

Love XP, the old system is perfectly transplanted to the new computer

If you think XP system is enough, and some commonly used software can only run under XP, plus in virtual The operation in the machine is not so used and easy, then you can directly transplant the original system to the new computer, so that in addition to the performance improvement of the computer, the other is exactly the same as the original computer, there will be no inconvenience. .

To achieve this, you need to use ATI's universal restore function. Unlike other simple restore software, its excitement is that the key hardware information is automatically removed during the restore process, so even The computer has replaced the main hardware and the system will not be affected.

First install XP system in the new computer, then install ATI and UR in the system and start, enter the "Recovery" option, select the system backup file and restore the target partition (now installed XP partition) That is, the default “Restored Partition Type  is the Active” (active), no need to modify.

Tips: If you don't want to overwrite the current system and switch back to other partitions, then the above partition type must select “Active”, otherwise you can't continue.

Then follow the prompts, when you go to the step "Acronis Universal Restore", you should pay attention to this step is very important, you must choose the second "Use Acronis Universal Restore" (using Acronis Universal Restore, as shown 3)), if you choose the first item, it will be a general restoration, the two computer key hardware is different, waiting for you will most likely be unable to start the system or blue screen after startup, remember to remember!

In addition, sometimes you need to install the driver during the restore process. In this case, you can select “Install the following drivers” in the “Specifying Mass Storage Drivers” window and add the driver directory (as shown in Figure 4). This step is also critical. Due to the different storage device drivers, it is very likely that the related drivers will not start properly after the restore.

Follow the prompts, and finally click the "Proceed" button to restart the system and start the system restore. This process will also overwrite the partition where XP was installed. After the restore is completed, it will restart automatically. After the restart, it will automatically search. New hardware, then you can install drivers such as sound card, graphics card and network card one by one, the driver installation is completed, and the system migration is completed.

Finally, if you don't want to install ATI on your new computer, you can use another method. Because ATI can generate a bootable CD, you can directly perform backup and restore operations through the CD. If UR is installed at the same time, the generated CD also has a universal restore function. For the new computer, after sharing the zone, just use the ATI boot CD to boot, then restore the backup file, the operation method is the same as under Windows.

Intimate Tip: ATI itself comes with a power supply type and a large-capacity storage device related drivers, but not very full, so it provides you with the function of specifying the driver, of course, if the computer comes with the corresponding driver It is best, after designation, no problem. After the driver is collected, it can be burned to the ATI boot CD or mobile device, so that most of the computers will run normally after the restore. As for other drivers, such as sound cards, graphics cards and network cards, which are not part of ATI Universal Restore Management, you can manually install them after the system is restored.

Is your computer still the same now? Although more complicated, but very fulfilling! No virus, no Trojan, XP system download, Win7 system download, permanent free, upgrade system is in the system home!
