Restore operating system to its previous state in Windows XP

  

This article describes how to use the System Restore tool to restore your computer to its previous working state. & ldquo; System Restore & rdquo; will create key system files and some program files "snapshot" and store this information in the form of restore points. You can use these restore points to restore Windows XP to its previous state.

How to use “System Restore Restore Windows XP

If Windows XP starts up Log in to Windows as an administrator. Click “Start”, then point to <;All Programs>,"Accessories" and "System Tools", and then click “System Restore”. Will start “ System Restore & rdquo;. On the "Welcome to System Restore" page, if you have not checked "Restore my computer to an earlier time", click the option and then click “Next”. On the "Select a Restore Point" page, click on a list of restore points in the list, click the most recent system checkpoint, and then click “Next”. A system restore message may appear, listing the configuration changes that will be made by System Restore. Click “OK”. On the “ Confirm Restore Point Selection" page, click “Next”. & nbsp; System Restore & quo; will restore the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restart the computer. Log in to the computer as an administrator. The “Restore Complete"  Click “OK”.

Troubleshooting You may accidentally revert Windows XP to a previous configuration that is not what you need. To undo the restore, follow these steps: Log in to Windows as an administrator. Click “Start”, then point to <;All Programs>,"Accessories" and "System Tools", and then click “System Restore”. Will start “ System Restore & rdquo;. On the "Welcome to System Restore" page, click “Undo the last restore operation", and then click “Next”. A system restore message may appear, listing the configuration changes that will be made by System Restore. Click “OK”. On the “ Confirm Restore Undo" page, click “Next”. & nbsp; System Restore & quo; will restore the original Windows XP configuration, and then restart the computer. Log in to the computer as an administrator. The "Undo Complete" page will appear for  quo;System Restore”. Click “OK”.
