The configuration method of the bridge in WindowsXP

In today's network technology, the development of network connection, in Windows XP, has integrated the connection of different network segments. The bridge & rdquo; function greatly facilitates the interconnection and expansion between small and medium-sized local area networks. The following is the author's method of obtaining the bridge settings in the network construction, write it out to the network administrator to share and share.

First, Windows XP bridge configuration needs to pay attention to matters

1, configure the Windows XP bridge server not to be configured as a domain controller, just configure to become an independent server.

2, the two network cards installed must be working properly, the test method is: open “ control panel & rarr; system & rdquo;, find & ldquo; hardware & rdquo; tab, click & ldquo; device manager & rdquo ;, expand & ldquo; network adapter & rdquo;, see the icon of the two NICs without a yellow exclamation mark, & ldquo; device status & rdquo; for & ldquo; work properly & rdquo;

3, Windows XP bridge support network communication protocol is TCP /IP, can only forward data packets in the network communicated by TCP /IP protocol. However, the host operating system in the network does not have to be the Windows series. If it is Linux or other operating system, as long as the TCP/IP protocol is properly loaded, the Windows XP bridge can work with it.

Second, Windows XP bridge configuration method

Step 1: Assign different IP addresses to two different network segment interfaces in the bridge. One of the two network segments we want to interconnect is 10.0.0.0. In the bridge, we can choose a network card and assign it a fixed IP address of 10.0.0.1 as the network interface of 10.0.0.0. The specific method is: open "ldquo; control panel", select "network", select "local connection" (the first network card) "properties", open “ TCP /IP & rdquo;, select “ Specify the IP address & rdquo;, fill in 10.0.0.1, the subnet mask is 255.0.0.0, and the gateway is 10.0.0.1. For the same reason, we can assign the IP address to 192.168.0.1, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the gateway to 192.168.0.1 for the “local connection 2” (second NIC). Step 2: Start Windows XP Bridge. Right click on the “local connection” (first NIC) and find “Create Bridge”. After clicking, Windows XP will display a “Network Bridge”. icon. However, since only one network interface exists in the bridge at this time, the bridge is temporarily unavailable (the bridge icon has a red cross). We also performed the operation of “Create Bridge” on the “local connection 2” (second NIC), and you can see that the icon of the bridge has changed. Right-click on the bridge icon and select “Properties> to check the properties of the network interface you just added, such as the network card name and the IP address to which it is bound.

Step 3: After the bridge is started, set the host gateway in the network segment 10.0.0.0 to 10.0.0.1, and set the host gateway in the 192.168.0.0 network segment to 192.168.0.1. We can select a computer in the network segment of 10.0.0.0.0, such as 10.0.0.2, type “ld 192.168.0.2” in the command line, if you can receive “Reply from 192.168.0.2……” The response indicates that the bridge is working properly, and the two network segments are connected and can transfer files to each other.
