Let the video files in XP sneak away

In Windows XP, it is often the case that AVI video files cannot be deleted normally. This is because Windows XP's multimedia preview function is flawed, that is, there are bugs in the Shmedia.dll file. In-depth exploration, found that only when the operation is terminated during the download or editing process and the AVI video file is incomplete, this bug will not be able to delete the AVI file. In summary, when selecting an AVI media file in Windows XP, its Explore.exe process will attempt to read the file information, providing the "Preview" function, which will cause the media file to be occupied and cannot be deleted. The key to solving the problem is to cancel or bypass the preview function of Windows XP. Here I have summarized five ways to delete it: 1. Create a new empty folder, drag the file to be deleted to this folder, and then The folder can be deleted. 2. Create a blank file, such as a TXT file, in the same folder as the media file. When deleting, use the mouse to drag the two files together. “Dort and click”, there will be no “Preview”. The problem can be deleted directly. 3. After booting up, enter and execute “Cmd” in “Start → Run” and open a “Command Prompt” window to enter the directory where the AVI file is located. Press Ctrl Alt Del” Out “Windows Task Manager", select “Explorer.exe” in “process", then press “end process”, then the toolbar and desktop are gone. At this point, delete the AVI media file with the “Del” command in the <;Command Prompt" (DOS) window, and then enter “C:\\Windows\\explorer.exe” and execute to restore the toolbar and desktop. . 4. Delete the key value in the registry <HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Classes\\ CLSID\\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}”, this will solve the problem of deletion. However, when you right-click the AVI file to view the properties later, the preview of the file will no longer be displayed. It is recommended to export and back up this registry key value so that it can be restored when needed. Or enter & execute “REGSVR32/U SHMEDIA.DLL” in "Start →Run", the effect is the same as above. To recover, run "ldGSVR32 SHMEDIA.DLL" directly. 5. Use file management software such as Total Commander, or use the “local browsing” function provided by software such as FlashFXP to delete the file. Because these operations do not depend on the Explore.exe process, as long as there is no "preview" problem, there will be no problem.
