Turn off annoying automatic dialing

  
        You may find that after installing Windows XP, when you open the mail client software or save the web page, a prompt box asking you to automatically dial the connection to the Internet will pop up. Sometimes you don't need it. There are two ways to close it. :

1. Temporarily close
You can click the “Settings” button after entering this window, enter the “Dial Preferences” window, check “Disable automatic dialing when I log in” and “OK”, this will temporarily cancel the automatic dialing function. However, the prompt for automatic dialing will still appear after the computer is turned on next time. If you accidentally check "Do not ask me before my next login" in the "Network Connection" dialog box that appears first, or cancel the "In the Dialing Preferences" window, "Always ask me before auto-dialing." 2. Close completely
If you want to completely disable this feature, you can click "Start → Control Panel", double-click "Administrative Tools" in the Control Panel, and then double-click "Services". After opening the service list, right-click on the "Remote Access Auto Connection Manager" option and select "Stop". Right-click the option again, select Properties, and select Disabled in Startup Type in the General tab. When you want to restore this function later, you can change it to "Automatic".
