WinXP system Nvidia GT520M/540M discrete graphics driver installation

Nvidia and AMD surprisingly consistent, the official does not provide support for XP's new notebook graphics driver, many accustomed to XP friends can not find the graphics card driver, it should be said You can install the new driver by modifying the INF file.

This method is applicable to the latest 500M series notebook graphics cards such as Nvidia Geforce GT540M, GT520M, GT555M, etc. However, the dual graphics card switching model does not support disabling the set display only in XP system (only the N card operation must pass the set display). Port output), only the shielded core graphics card can only be driven by a unique model.

Using GT540M notebook:

Shenzhou a560-i7d1, ASUS A43S, Acer 4750G(2412G50Mnkk)

Using GT555M notebook:

Lenovo Y470N-ISE, Lenovo Y570NT-ISE

Using GT520M notebook:

Lenovo Z470A-ITH, Acer 4743G(482G50Mnkk)

Drivers and software used Nvidia notebook graphics driver latest version, WinRAR , Notepad

Method

1. Go to Nvidia official download mobile graphics card version of the driver, Baidu "Notebook Release 265 XP", there is a download address, the driver file is 266.58_notebook_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe.

2. Open 266.58_notebook_winxp_32bit_international_whql with WinRAR and extract the entire directory of Display.Driver.

3. Open the device manager (run devmgmt.msc), double-click the video controller, click on the details, and write down the device sample ID, similar to “PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_1050”, you can see from the list below The device ID corresponding to each graphics card.

4.

Open nvac.inf and add a few lines to the [NVIDIA_Devices] field (depending on your device ID):

%NVIDIA_DEV.1050.01 % = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_1050

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF7.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF7

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DED.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE& DEV_0DED

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DEC.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DEC

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DEB.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DEB

% NVIDIA_DEV.0DF4.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF5.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF5

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF6.01% = Section001 , PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF6

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DD6.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DD6

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DCD.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DCD

%NVIDIA_DEV.0DCE.01% = Section001, PCI\\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DCE

5.

Add in the [Strings] field Line:

NVIDIA_DEV.1050.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DF7.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DED.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DEC.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DEB.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DF4.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DF5.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DF6.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DD6.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DCD.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M"

NVIDIA_DEV.0DCE. 01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M"

Save the file.

6.

Device Manager right click video controller → update driver → install &rarr from list or specified location; browse, specify Display.Driver, next step, complete.

Note

The third and fourth steps can directly find the INF file modified by the netizen. It is said that the driver based on nvac.inf and nv4_disp.inf is relatively mature (the individual has backup INF).
