DHCP 2 DHCP relay agent

Have you ever encountered this situation? Generally, there will be no routers in large companies. As long as there are routers, a new problem will arise. Everyone knows that routers have a major purpose. Is to communicate between different network segments, and second, to block broadcast packets, how can the client at the other end of the router contact the DHCP server and successfully receive a response from the DHCP server? This requires another function of the DHCP server, DHCP relay agent service

The beginning of the experiment Let us configure the experimental environment of each machine first. The DHCP server still configures a 192 network segment as before. The scope is different. You should also create a new 10 network segment as shown below.

DHCP has configured the address. In addition to setting an address pointing to 192.168.1.100, it is not allowed to change this. We configure the IP address and experimental environment to the relay router

The IP address of the relay router is configured as follows

Because the relay router is connected to two network cards, the name is The 192 NIC is the IP address of the left IP address segment is 192.168.1.100 10. The IP address of the NIC is 10.1.1.1. Do not set the default gateway.

As shown in the figure, find the route and remote access and open

After opening, we can see that the routing and remote access service is off by default. We should configure and enable this function by right-clicking to see

Step

Note here to select a custom configuration and click Next

Select the LAN routing option here and click Next

It is necessary to point out that the relay server I did on Windows Server 2003 can also be installed. The DHCP service does not need to configure anything. Then, just follow the steps from Zhao Routing and Remote Access Service and start the service. You can continue to configure it.

Because we have to do relay router experiments, we must use one. Protocol relay routing protocol as shown below Click on the right click to select the new routing protocol

Click to add routing protocol

Have you seen one? The DHCP relay agent is as follows

At this time, a DHCP relay agent appears in the IP routing. Then we select the DHCP relay agent option. Right click

Click on the new interface option

At this point, two interfaces appear because we want to automatically configure the IP for the network connected to the 10th segment. Address, of course, the interface must choose 10 this and then click OK

Then jump out of this property we keep The default is like and then have to configure the relay agent's property

Click Properties

The DHCP server IP Add the address and apply it.

Seeing that the client has successfully obtained the IP address of the 10 network segment is good! Transfer from: http://yushantao.blog.51cto.com/975462/1184025
