Setting up a shared server with 2003 05

Because we don't want others to access or open some important private files, the above permission settings are difficult to meet the requirements. In order to achieve this, we need specific private files. encryption. Windows2003 provides us with a cheap and secure encryption method, that is, the EFs encryption system, which only supports the NTFS file system, which is based on the public key. When encrypting, it will automatically generate an encryption key, which itself can be extended. Encryption algorithm, so it is safer. Another point is that it is very easy to encrypt and decrypt files or folders. Just select it in the properties, as shown in Figure 12.

Each user can encrypt your important files with its own private, but note that it is carried out EFS-encrypted files, the best back up each user's personal Certificate, and keep it safe. If there is a problem in the future, you can open the encrypted file by importing the personal certificate. Otherwise, you can reinstall the system even if you log in with the previous account and password. It must be noted that it is sad how many people have lost important files because they do not have a backup certificate. Export the certificate. In the "Certificate Authority" console of the management tool, select the personal certificate and right-click the certificate.

The following is the default disk quota for users. Disk quota is a new feature of NTFS5.0. In the disk properties where the abc folder is located, find the quota label. Select the checkbox in front of "Enable Quota" and "Reject space to users who exceed quota". Limit the disk space to 10M and the warning level to 5M. The specific value can be assigned according to the needs of the user. The following "record events when the user exceeds the quota limit" and "record the event when the user exceeds the warning registration". As shown in Figure 13.

After this setting, when the user files are stored in the alert line, they will be written in the log, and the administrator can obtain the information through the log. Do the appropriate action on this, or notify the user to organize the file, or increase the size of the quota.

After setting the default quota option, you need to set quota options for each specific user. Click the "Quota Item" button to set quotas for a, b, and c users in the dialog box that opens. Click New Quota, then select User, fill in the quota size and alert size, as shown in Figure 14.

Finally, the anti-virus problem, as long as the installation of a set of enterprise anti-virus software on the server, and open real-time virus monitoring can be, about the specific use of anti-virus software Please refer to its official documentation, I recommend you to use NAV8.1, the company uses a very good anti-virus tool, powerful and effective, and comes with a virus database upgrade tool is very convenient to update the virus database to ensure that the server is free from viruses. In addition to the usual real-time anti-virus, you can also add anti-virus tasks to regularly anti-virus, open heuristic anti-virus and so on.

For important files on the server, administrators need to make timely backups. There are many backup solutions. The most economical solution is to use Windows 2003's own scheduled tasks and backup programs to solve them. For details, check out the Windows help documentation.
