How to backup Windows 2000 server IIS configuration

  
        

Network administrators, including Windows 2000 Server users, must be familiar with the rules for creating important data backups. When backing up your document, follow these steps to successfully back up your IIS web server configuration:
1. Open IIS. In the Windows 2000 Server, find the “Administrative Tools> in the Start & rdquo; menu and click on "Internet Service Manager".
2. In the pop-up menu, select the "Backup/Restore Configuration" option.
3. Click the [Create Backup] button and enter the name of the file to be backed up. The default save address is: %systemroot%system32inetsrvmetaback.
4. Click the [Close] button to complete the backup.
Please note: This operation can only back up your local IIS server configuration. You cannot use this backup file to restore IIS configuration on other computers.
After the backup is complete, if you want to restore the IIS and Windows 2000 configuration of this machine, please follow the steps below:
1. Open IIS. In the Windows 2000 Server, find the "Startup" menu in the "Startup" menu, click on the "Internet Service Manager"
2. In the pop-up menu, click "“ Backup/Restore Configuration&rdquo" ;, click the [Create Backup] button.
3. Select the backup file you need to use and click [Restore]. When the system pops up the inquiry window & ldquo; Do you want to restore the configuration? ” When you click [Yes], the recovery is completed.
