How to protect Word documents with digital signatures

Word documents are currently the most commonly used document format in office and life, but the protection of Word documents is also the most headache for me. Because of my work needs, some of the Word document content I wrote can not be modified by others. Some important documents and protocols sent to others, during the transmission process, also worry that the content of the document will be tampered with by others with ulterior motives. With the increasing use of Word documents in e-commerce, I believe this problem will also cause problems for others. I wonder if there is a better solution? [Solutions] In the traditional solution, the simpler method is to add the document “Open Document” and “Modify Document” to the documents that need to be protected. However, in the face of password recovery tools such as WordKey, these two methods have the same protection effect. Even if you set a strong password, you can easily open the document by using Word's vulnerability. Another way is to use macros to protect documents. In this case, you can also use other editing tools to open and modify the document. In short, the traditional method can not solve the problem of Word document protection. The current ideal protection method is to use Word digital signature, which is also the key function after Word 2010. In Word, Microsoft provides a direct channel for signing services in the Office market. However, these signing service providers are located abroad, it is very difficult to apply for these digital signatures, and it is very difficult to apply for Microsoft-approved digital certificates in China, so this function is rarely used by ordinary people. However, we can use the free personal digital certificate service provided by Wartone to solve this problem. The digital signature is universal, the application is easy (as long as there is a mailbox to apply), and it is free, it is a good choice. Because the Warton digital certificate is bound to the mailbox, its authority can be close to the real name (and vice versa), so it has certain value. If the mailbox is certified by real name, the certificate has legal effect. [Solution method] Digital certificate application may have many digital certificates in hand, such as online banking digital certificate, Alipay digital certificate (Alipay's digital certificate is one of the identity documents used in Alipay account funds, encrypt your information and ensure the account Capital security) and so on. These certificates are related to financial security and have certain technical thresholds, so it is recommended that you apply for a digital certificate separately. There are many institutions that apply for digital certificates on the Internet, such as Shanghai Digital Certificate Certification Center Co., Ltd. (http://www.sheca.com/certificate/personalIDApply.aspx), Wotong (http://www.wosign.com/). CA/index.html), these companies have the electronic certification service license issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, so it has legal effect. For the average enthusiast, it is recommended that you apply for a free email encryption certificate from Warton (Figure 1), which can be used for digital signature of Word documents. If your document is to be used in a formal business, it is recommended that you apply for a real-name personal (or unit) digital certificate and save it to a USB Key or IC card. First, enter the Warton registration page (https://login.wosign.com/reg.html, Figure 2). You need to activate it before you can enter it. It should be noted that a mailbox can only apply for a digital certificate. Enter the verification code for your mailbox to activate your account. After activation, the system will issue the address of the digital certificate to the mailbox (Figure 3), and click to retrieve the digital certificate (Figure 4). The file with the suffix pfx is the certificate file. Note that the certificate file must be kept in a reliable location. After the certificate is downloaded, double-click the certificate file to open the wizard window and import the certificate. During the certificate import process, a strong password is used to protect the private key (Figure 5). It is recommended that the password be at least 12 characters long and include letters and numbers.
