How to set up the system to make the firewall more powerful

Microsoft started with XP and added network firewall functionality to the system. Although this feature can meet the basic needs of users, due to the cumbersome settings, many users are not fully utilized. With the Windows Firewall Control (hereafter referred to as WFC) tool, not only the management of the system firewall is simpler, but also the function of the firewall becomes more powerful. The following system home Xiaobian introduced how to set up the system to make the firewall more powerful. Hanhua WFCWFC is an English software, which is inconvenient for beginners, we can make it Chinese. First download the WFC installation package and its corresponding Simplified Chinese language package (http://appwan.net/?p=486). Here you need to remind everyone that WFC requires .NET Framework 4.0 support to run properly. Once the installation is complete, the WFC icon will be displayed in the system tray, right-click on the icon and select the <quo;Exit” command to exit it. Next, copy the downloaded Chinese language pack file to the installation folder of the tool. Run WFC again and its interface becomes Simplified Chinese. Adjusting the security level Windows system firewall will only pop up a prompt window to ask the user when the software program accesses the network. If you think this is too simple, right-click on the WFC icon, select the "Control Panel" command, and then select the "Profile" option in the Control Panel to select the appropriate filter level according to your needs. The higher the filtering level, the greater the restriction on the software program to access the network. WFC recommends selecting the “Filtering” item (Figure 1). WFC performs analysis and judgment of all network connection behaviors by matching network rules. To manage the rules already in the system, you can click on the “Manage Rules” in the lower left corner to see the existing network rules. If you select an item at any time, click the control command in the “options", you can perform management operations such as "block", "disable", “delete" (Figure 2). Create new network rules In addition to managing existing network rules, you can create your own new network rules as needed. In the “Manage Rules” window, select the “Manage Rules” item and click the “Allow Browse” button in the “Create New Rule” dialog box. Select the program file that is allowed to connect. For example, I chose Firefox.exe, the main file of Firefox, and a new rule is created. It is convenient. If you want to create more rigorous rules, then select the network rule you just created, then click on “Properties” in the list on the right. Since the browser is usually connected to port 80 of the server, find the "protocol and port" in the pop-up properties window. In the "Protocol" list, select “TCP”,“remote port"select“custom port”,“for example, enter 80 (Figure 3). After all the settings are completed, click "Application", and when the browser accesses the port that is not 80, the WFC will pop up a prompt box to intercept.
