What is compatibility view

Compatibility View is a useful feature that Microsoft has added specifically for IE8.0 in order to be compatible with websites developed based on other web standards, ensuring that Internet users are not trapped in the messy display of web pages while browsing the web. When IE8.0 detects that a website is incompatible, the Compatibility View button will appear on the right side of the address bar. With a single click, most of the web pages will display normally. The latest IE9 beta also has this feature.

Since IE8 supports new web standards, there are issues when browsing certain incompatible websites. For example, the webpage display is not normal, the picture is misplaced and the text is far away, etc., causing the webmaster to uninstall IE8.0. The following solution.

There is a "Compatibility View Settings" item in the IE8.0 menu. By setting, the browser can use the rendering mode of IE7.0 to solve the misplacement of the webpage developed according to the requirements of the old browser. And running away and other issues.

1. Click the “Tools” button on the right side of IE and select “Compatibility View Settings”. In the pop-up dialog box, tick “Show all sites in Compatibility View” & rdquo ; This setting can be achieved once and for all.

2. If you only want some websites to implement compatibility display, you can add the URLs of these websites to the compatibility list. This setting enables compatibility display for specific websites.

Another way is to find compatibility issues when you open the webpage. You don't need to close the webpage, just click <;Tools”-“Compatible“.

Note: After you click the Compatibility View button, the site will be automatically saved to the compatibility list. Next time you log in to this page, IE8.0 will automatically enable Compatibility View.
