Using FlashGet, experience the fastest download

Internet Express FlashGet is a commonly used and easy to use download tool, the default maximum number of threads is 10, while the task is only 8 at the same time, but for dial-up users or broadband Users want to increase their number of threads and tasks to fully increase the download speed and efficiency. In fact, we only need to modify the registry to fully meet the above requirements.

Modify the maximum number of threads
The default maximum number of threads for FlashGet is 10, we can increase it appropriately to improve the bandwidth utilization. Open the Registry Editor, find the HHEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\JetCar\\JetCar\\General subkey branch, create a new "DWORD" value named "MaxParallelNum" under it, and modify its value to decimal 30 (maximum 30). Exit the registry editor and start FlashGet. At this point, the maximum number of threads can be set to 30.

Modifying the number of simultaneous tasks
FlashGet allows 8 tasks to be performed at the same time, and sometimes it does not meet our requirements.
Open the registry editor, find the HHEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\JetCar\\JetCar\\General subkey branch, create a new "DWORD" value named "MaxSimJobs" under it, and modify its value to decimal 20 (maximum value is desirable) 100). Oh, what do you want to do with so many tasks? Unless your bandwidth is really good.

Set the time to automatically save the list file
In order to avoid frequent write operations, FlashGet will temporarily store the downloaded file in the cache, after reaching a certain amount of data. Save it to disk again. If a failure such as a crash or power outage occurs before FlashGet saves the data to disk, the data will not be saved. To prevent this from happening, we can shorten the time interval for automatically saving files. Select the "Options" command in the "Tools" menu, then select the "General" tab, shorten the "Automatically save list file" interval, such as 1 minute. And set the value of "Data is written to disk whenever received" to a value appropriate for itself, such as 50k. These can be set according to the actual situation of the individual.

Download Interrupt Processing
If we download a file with FlashGet, we cannot continue downloading for various reasons. The available network ants then download, find the downloaded part of the file, remove the extension ".jc!", open the network ant, click "Import interrupted download" in the "File" menu, in the pop-up dialog box Select the file that FlashGet does not complete, and then fill in the URL of the file in the "Add Task" dialog box that opens.
Another place to download
Sometimes it is easy to download a file of tens of MB or even hundreds of MB to half, and when downloading again, I found that the server has deleted the file. It doesn't matter, just find another server that provides the software download. Of course, the file name and size must be the same, and its URL is overwritten with the original invalid link, and then you can download it.

Try to download and then download
When downloading MP3, often after the download is completed, it is found that the MP3 is not what you like to listen to, wasting time and money online In fact, we can terminate the FlashGet download task when MP3 has just downloaded to 1/3 or 1/4, then find the download file section, remove the extension ".jc!", and then open the file with Winamp and other playback software. Listen, if you like it, add the extension of ".jc!" and download it. If you don't like it, you don't have to waste your time and money.

Bulk Download
When you like a web page, the usual way is to save it to your hard drive. However, if you are optimistic about multiple link pages of a certain website at the same time, it is too cumbersome to do so. Use FlashGet's "bulk download" feature to make it easy.

The specific steps are: Open FlashGet → Task → Add Batch Task → Add URL, which is simple and saves time and effort.

Create a corresponding folder according to the type of download file
Open FlashGet, right click on "Downloaded" in the status bar on the left, and in the "New Category" that opens, you can see "Category name", fill in the folder name, click "OK".
