Partition Assistant Loss Partitioning Tutorial

To be honest, since the use of two domestic DiskGenius (formerly known as: DiskMan) and partition assistant (have used the name of the proud partition assistant, and later saved the word "Ao Mei"), the author basically I have never used foreign excellent partitioning software such as PQ Partition Magic, PM (Paragon Partition Manager), ADD11 (Acronis Disk Director Suit) (excellent is not equal to easy use). The author's choice is to use DiskGenius for fast partitioning and partition assistant for lossless partitioning. These two partitioning software can be said to have a common feature —— very easy to use and powerful.

Due to the limited space of the article, this article only talks about how to use the partition assistant for lossless partitioning.

Why use partition assistant for lossless partitioning?

The author upgraded the computer a few days ago, the only regret is that the hard disk C drive only 27G, install a Win7 64 bit up, C The disk is only less than 5G. The D disk has 50G of free space, I would like to borrow 20G from the D disk to the C disk, to ease the pressure of the C disk. As mentioned earlier, I will use DiskGenius for fast partitioning, and the partitioning assistant will use partitioning assistant. If I used to, I would choose ADD11 (the only one that perfectly supports lossless partitioning under Win7).

Note: Any partitioning operation is risky. Please transfer important data to other mobile hard disks before partitioning.

Partition Assistant One-Click Loss-Free Partition Tutorial

Gossip is not much to say, let's take a look at how to use the partition assistant for lossless partitioning. From the example, it is how to transfer the 20G free space of the D drive to the C drive.

The normal non-destructive partitioning step is 2 steps: one, separate the 20G of the D disk; second, merge into the C disk. The partitioning assistant only needs 1 step (actually two steps, but only two-step automatic operation) to complete the above operations.

As can be seen from Figure 1, the C drive has only 27.95G, while the D drive has 30.95G free space. Now all I have to do is add the 20G of the D drive to the C drive.

Figure 1 The main interface of the partition assistant is simple and clear at a glance (Click the picture to see the big picture, the same below)

Note: The following lossless partitioning operation is performed on the Win7 64-bit system.

Extended Partition Wizard

If you want to move the 20G free space of the D drive to the C drive's lossless partition operation, please click the “Extended Partition Wizard” button on the left side of the Partition Assistant. This is the most crucial step.

<;Enlarge the selection" There are two items, respectively, "Extension System Partition" and "Select the partition you want to expand". I chose to fill in the disk partition C directly (in fact, directly select the extended system partition).

Must understand "What is the meaning of partition selection"

<; partition selection & quoquo;, which means you want to use the free space of the partition to expand the C drive (or other disk you want to expand).

Understand the role of "partition selection", you will know the principle of lossless partitioning of partition assistant. The partition assistant first asks which partition you want to expand, and then asks which partition you want to use. Instead of asking you first to cut off the remaining space of which partition.
