The partition where the virtual machine is located can be defragmented

My computer is equipped with a virtual machine. Can the hard disk partition of the host where the virtual machine reside be defragmented? I want to sort it out but I am afraid of a problem. If something goes wrong, it will be troublesome. Please help me explain.

[Answer]: Generally speaking, it is "can be sorted out". I often do this. The reason why some people say that GHO and other images can not be sorted out is actually because the finishing process may cause errors in the software. The files such as GHO and ISO format are relatively large, and the probability of a small error is magnified above the probability of a large file. But in general, don't worry about this problem, unless there is something critical in your virtual machine disk, in this case it is less moving. If you are using VMware, it has a feature that can be used to defragment the virtual machine's disk. If you want to defragment the virtual machine's disk separately, you can use this.
