Not a problem that Ghost must pay attention to once and for all.

At present, there are many Ghost (clone) versions of the installation disk on the market, mainly concentrated on the Windows XP operating system, the disk integrates SP2, system installation recovery takes only a few minutes Can be solved, so it is favored by the majority of users. Other friends also like to use other people's clone files to restore the installation, the picture is save trouble, but in the process of applying the clone recovery to the author, I also found some drawbacks:

Installing a system for a friend After the Ghost recovery, the other is normal but cannot be heard. After troubleshooting the software and hardware, the fault can not be found. The driver of the sound card is also displayed normally, but it has been confirmed that the hardware is definitely no problem. I just enjoyed the music before reinstalling the system. So the cause of the failure can only be the software side. After uninstalling the sound card driver and reinstalling the sound card driver CD that comes with the machine, the fault disappears completely.

There is also a machine that can be shut down after recovering with the Ghost CD of Windows XP system. The prompt “You can safely turn off the computer” is displayed on the display, as if returning to the AT power era, everything is normal. This type of fault is generally related to the setting of the power management advanced management option in the BIOS of the motherboard. After entering the BIOS, the attribute value of the "ACPI Function" option is found to be "Enable", indicating that the BIOS setting is correct. After the BIOS of the motherboard is refreshed, it still does not work. .

Considering that the system is recovered through Ghost, it should be related to this, because Ghost recovery is to cover the entire hard disk C disk partition, skipping the Windows XP system during the normal installation process to the motherboard, etc. The search configuration of each accessory is replaced by the default configuration of the device driver of other machines in the clone disk, which inevitably involves incompatibility and other aspects of the failure. After such a theoretical analysis, the author believes that the failure to shut down properly should be related to the power configuration of the computer.

Click "My Computer" right button to view the "Device Manager" in the properties, expand the "Computer" branch and find out that the faulty computer is not ACPI power mode, it seems that the problem should be here. . Update the driver for this power mode, select the power mode to be installed (ie ACPI mode); after the installation is successful, restart, and find that the computer can execute the shutdown command normally.

Summary: In the process of reinstalling the system, you should try to avoid using Ghost recovery mode, otherwise there will be a fault, but I really don't know the following. The above only lists the faults caused by Ghost mode. For example, explain the drawbacks of this mode. Of course, in the process of eliminating soft faults in the future, if the system is found to be Ghost recovery mode, it can also be analyzed and rescued from this aspect.
