                  Regsnap is a registry analysis tool, not to mention its small size, only 264KB, its function is powerful. Regsnap can take a snapshot of the system registry file and the files in the Windows directory and the System directory. The file with the .reg extension is stored in the directory where Regsnap is located. You can generate one before and after installing or uninstalling the software. Snapshots, by Regsnap's compare function, see all changes to the registry and other key files, including key modifications, deletions, and additions. These changes can be clearly seen before your eyes.
The snapshot file generated by Regsnap.reg can be read by word processing software, or it can be opened with "Windows Explorer".

After running Regsnap, the program automatically enters the "Start Wizard window, as shown in the figure:
There are two main commands in the wizard: create a new snapshot (New Snap ) and comparison snapshots (Compare).

, use of two main commands

• New Snap (create new snapshot)
The easiest way to create a new snapshot is in the wizard Please click the "New Snap" button, in addition, you can also select the "New" command under the "File" menu. When using, you must first select the mode to create a snapshot, as shown in the figure:
There are three modes, The meaning is:
Snap All: After selecting this option, Regsnap will create a snapshot of the INI files (mainly win.ini and system.ini) and registry files of the files in the Windows directory and the Windows System directory. Usually we choose this item (although the generated snapshot file is larger), the purpose is to prevent the risk of modifying the registry before it happens!
Registry Only: Select this option to take a snapshot only on the system registry; The snapshot file is created quickly and can only be monitored soft. There is no way to modify the system registry, but there is no way to modify other files.
Registry From Remote PC: Select this option to create a snapshot file for the remote PC's registry, which is only useful for computers on the network.
Select "Snap All", press "OK" button, the creation process dialog box pops up, as shown in the figure:
then pop up a detailed list dialog box, which gives the key value data contained in the snapshot. Number and other registry information, as shown in the figure:

After the snapshot is created, it can only represent the current registry. Situation; when you make another snapshot after the software is installed or uninstalled, then the next step is to compare two snapshot files.
• Compare snapshot
Compare two registry snapshots Similarities and differences, you can select the "Compare" command in the "File" menu, or click the
button directly on the toolbar to pop up the comparison dialog box, as shown in the figure:
in "First Snapshot" Choose your build The first registry snapshot file name, you can use the "Browser" command to select the file. In the "Second snapshot" select the second registry snapshot file name you created (note that this function can not compare the same file) After the snapshot file is selected, you can select the output report file. There are two options when outputting the file:
Show modifIEd key name only (only the name of the modified key is displayed): after selecting this option , can only see the modified key name in the output report, how to modify and modify what key value can not be seen, and the report is small, if you want to know more about the software modification of the registry, you must use the second Options.
Show modified key name and key values: After the selection of the above options is over, you can choose to output the name of the report. If you do not select it, use the system default. Click the "OK" button to output the report. The report is a text file. Regsnap directly calls Notepad to open the report. You can take a detailed look at the changes to the registry and Windows system before and after the software is installed or uninstalled. In the "Output file" option, you can choose to use a text file or To do this, use the HTML file to view it, select the "Plain text" option with text and click the "OK" button.
