Ghost8.0 Enterprise Edition installation

Install Ghost8.0 Enterprise Edition on the server, in fact, the installation is very simple, all the way "Next", note: in the installation mode When you choose the first item, it is the "console". When you install the component, you don't need to change it. You can use the default one.

to make the customer's boot disk

click "Start → Programs → Symantec Ghost Ghost Boot Wizard → Network Boot Disk" on the server.

Click “Next” to display the NIC selection prompt box. According to your own network card, you can choose your own network card model, because it is commonly used in the 8.0 version (8139 NIC driver also). After selecting, click "Next" to select DOS version. PC-DOS is MS-DOS. MS-DOS needs to make a boot disk in Windwos98 and insert the floppy disk drive. Click "Next" to select the client type. Use the default two consecutive "Next" to appear the client's network settings. Note that the DHCP server automatically assigns the IP address. The solution, then you can choose which floppy drive the boot disk is doing, and do a few more information. Once everything is set up, you can start making boot disks.

Start network replication

1. Start GhostCast Server of Ghost 8.0 on the server, and add a name at the "Session Name". The simpler the better, but Be clear, because you have to fill in the same name as this in the client. There are two options behind, the first one is "Restore Image", which means loading the image package onto the client. The second one is "Create Image", which means to create an image package. We choose the second one here. Click the "Browse" button to select a location for the image package, name it and save it. This is the ghost image package for the client system. Then click on "Accept Clients" on the right. Start accepting requests from clients (see figure).

2. Modify the COMS set in the client computer, choose USB-HDD boot, we just do a good job with the boot disk (U disk) to start the computer. Under normal circumstances, the boot should automatically enter Ghost, see the "Multicasting" option is already valid, select it, press Enter, you can see here, the client's Ip has been automatically assigned, and then need to fill in the server-side name, in Here is the "Server". Click "OK" and select "No" or "Fast". After confirming, upload the image.

3. After the upload is complete, select “Restore Image” on the server side and select the image package you just made. Then click "Accept Clients" to wait for the client's request, then use the U disk to start the client. The specific steps are similar to the steps of making the image package above. The first step is to start, enter Ghost after startup, select "Multicasting", fill in the server name (Server), but after filling in the server name, with the above process Differently, the client starts to contact the server to obtain the detailed information of the current Ghost package. Then follow the prompts. After all the clients are ready, click the “Send” button on the server side, and the network Ghost will start. About two. Ten minutes, the Ghost process ends. Restart each client in turn, and change information such as computer name and IP address. In this way, a network room is equipped in about two hours.
