The Munich government in Germany may abandon Linux and return to the Win10 system

. Perhaps we have heard more than once. Some groups and organizations think that Linux is better than Windows and try to replace the latter. The same view is also about open source Office software. OpenOffice replaces Microsoft Office and so on, but few organizations use the Linux platform entirely.

in 2004, the German city of Munich's decision to drop the Windows operating system in favor of Linux, the purpose is to plan to use the "independence" of open source software to save 10 million euros expenses. What prompted Munich to change was to cut costs if you didn't upgrade Win7 and the latest version of Office and related hardware. Instead, Munich spent 23 million euros to migrate to the Linux system, arguing that using Microsoft services would cost 34 million euros.
The city began to migrate from Windows NT and Office 97/2003 to Limux system (based on Linux customization, Ubuntu consumer version), in addition to OpenOffice, a variety of free software, such as Firefox browser, Thunderbird mail client, Gimp image Edit, affecting approximately 15,000 staff members.

now, according to a new report, the city wants to return to the Windows system (such as the latest Win10), IT department heads have submitted two letters to the Commission, the mayor Dieter Reiter consider switching back to a Linux system Windows system, in order to install Microsoft Office, get rid of the cumbersome and limited Linux.
Although they have already purchased high-end hardware configuration computers, with Linux systems, everyday operations such as text processing and video calls are affected. Another major complaint is that OpenOffice/LibreOffice and Microsoft Office documents are not guaranteed to be fully compatible. The documents, forms, etc. created by OpenOffice are opened on Microsoft Office and completely changed. This makes it difficult for government workers to communicate with other people using Microsoft Office. It is extremely inconvenient for many employees to start using their own smartphones or personal computers for conversion processing.
