How do Win10 desktop icons become PDF icons?

Recently, many users' Win10 desktop icons have been abnormal and become PDF icons. This is used because the PDF reader incorrectly associates the shortcut's .Ink file. Need to use the registry to clear this association, the following describes the specific operation method.

The steps are as follows:

1. Press Win and R on the keyboard, type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

2. On the left side, open Hld_CURRENT_USER— SOFTWARE— MICROSOFT— WINDOWS— currentversion— Explorer— FileExts—.lnk.

3, click to expand the .lnk directory, in the directory there are two folders openwithlist and openwithprogids

4, if there are other folders, delete them all, right click The file selection is deleted. Leave only ‍openwithlist and openwithprogids

5. Next click on the openwithlist file and look at the right side for no other items. If all are deleted, leave only one name "default".

6, then click openwithprogids, in the right side, in addition to "default", there are no other, and some are deleted.

7, this will be fine. Close the registry, restart the computer or log out, you can return to normal after logging out.

The above is the solution to convert the Win10 desktop icon into a PDF icon. After canceling the Ink file association, the shortcut will not be opened in PDF, and the shortcut icon will return to normal.
