Win10 Tip: How to remove the exclamation point on the notification area network icon?

As with Win7/Win8.1 and other systems, Win10 also automatically monitors the availability of the network and displays a yellow exclamation point on the network icon in the notification area in the lower right corner when the network cable is connected but the network is unavailable. As shown below:

But sometimes when we are using some special network, such as using special proxy or connection filtering, even if the network is normal, it may still be here. Display an exclamation mark, and can not be eliminated, you can try the following method to remove this mark:

• Open the run by Win+R, enter regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor;

Note: There is a risk in modifying the registry. You can use the cleanup function in the cleanup optimization software to back up the registry before the operation.

• Navigate to the following registry location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Network Connections

• Create a new DWORD value named NC_DoNotShowLocalOnlyIcon on the right side, Double-click to change its value to 1;

• Close the registry, restart the resource manager (you may need to restart the system), then the exclamation mark on the network icon will disappear, as shown below Show:
