How to partition Win7 hard disk

Nowadays, the new computer will pre-install the Win7 system. Usually, the hard disk has only one partition of the C disk, which is too inconvenient to use. It is necessary to re-partition the hard disk. When it comes to partitioning, many users may first think of partitioning software such as PQ. In fact, in Win7, you don't need to use any third-party software, and you don't need to enter the command prompt to type various commands. You can use the system under the Windows interface. Bring your own tools for partitioning. Click the “Start” button and right-click on the “Computer” option in the Start & rdquo; menu and select “Manage” from the pop-up menu.

Open Computer Management Menu
If the current user is using a standard account, the user will be asked to enter the administrator account credentials.
In the pop-up "Computer Management" window, expand the "Storage" item in the left navigation bar, click the "Disk Management" option, and the disk management will be loaded in the right pane. tool.

Click on disk 0 (if it is the second hard disk, it is disk 1, and so on) , the “New Simple Volume Wizard” dialog box will appear as shown below.

New Simple Volume Wizard
In the “New Simple Volume” wizard welcome screen Click the “Next” button to display the size of the partition, as shown below.

Setting the partition size
Windows allows the user to create a partition with a minimum space of 8MB and no space limit (if there is enough space to allocate), the unit here is megabytes (MB), the user can The disk's allocatable space and individual needs to be allocated.
After setting the partition size, click the “Next” button to display the assigned drive letter and path page. The user needs to set a drive letter or path.

Assigning the drive letter
After setting the partition allocation method, click the “Next” button to display the formatted page of the partition. To make the partition available, you must format the partition. In this step you can make simple settings for formatting.

Formatting Settings
After setting the formatting options, click the “Next” button to display the completion page of the “New Simple Volume Wizard”. The settings for creating a partition selected by the user will be displayed here.

Complete partition creation
If the settings are incorrect, click the “Previous” button to return to the appropriate steps to reset.
After confirmation, click the “Complete" button and the system will create a partition for the physical disk. When the partition is created, the system will automatically connect to the new partition. It will be possible to display the dialog shown in the figure. The user can select the operation or close the dialog box as needed.

Detecting new disk partitions
In some cases it may be necessary to adjust the total capacity of the C drive, such as the notebook that was just purchased with the Windows 7 operating system pre-installed. If there is only one C drive partition, and the capacity of the partition is large, resulting in less space for other allocable disks, you can solve the problem by using the "Compression" function in the disk management tool.
Select the C drive partition in the disk management interface, and right click to select the "Compress Volume" option.

Compressed Volumes
At this point, the Disk Utility will automatically check the space available for the selected partition for compression, the time it takes, and the hardware performance and disk space of the computer.

Query Compressible Space
After the check is completed, the “Compression” dialog box will display the total size of the current partition, the space available for compression, and the space to be compressed and after compression. Total size.

Entering the amount of compressed space
By default, the disk management tool will automatically fill in the maximum amount of space available for compression in the “Enter Compressed Space” input box, which can be changed by yourself. After determining the amount of space to be compressed, click the "compress" button, the disk management tool will compress the partition, and wait a moment to see the compressed partition and the unallocated space released by the compressed partition. The size is equal to the amount of compressed space set during compression.
