Windows7 how to partition unallocated disk space

Newly installed Windows 7 By default, only C drive, you need to partition the unallocated disk space. This requires the use of a disk management tool built into Windows 7.
Operating steps:
Create a disk partition
Click the "Start” button and right click on the "Computer" option in the Start menu, select “Manage from the pop-up menu ”;

In the pop-up "Computer Management" window, expand the "Storage" item in the left navigation bar, click on the "Disk Management" option, which will be on the right. The disk management tool is loaded in the pane;

Click on disk 0 (if it is the second hard disk, it is disk 1, and so on) in the "unallocated" space, right click select "new simple Volume & rdquo;, will appear as shown below "New Simple Volume Wizard" dialog box;

in the "New Simple Volume" wizard welcome interface click "ld"; next & rdquo; button, will Display the page to set the partition size;

Windows allows users to create a partition with a minimum space of 8MB and no space limit (if there is enough space to allocate), the unit here is megabytes (MB), user It can be allocated according to the disk's allocatable space and individual needs.
After setting the partition size, click the “Next” button to display the assigned drive letter and path page. The user needs to set a drive letter or path.

The user can choose three kinds of distribution methods here:
---If the user needs to create a new partition, you can click the letter next to the option to assign the following drive letter to the next drive letter. You can also choose the default.
---If you need to load a new partition into a disk or folder, you can click the “Add the following blank NTFS folder” option and click the “Browse” button to select or create A blank folder to mount the partition.
---If the user does not want to assign a drive letter to the new partition, you can click the "Do not assign drive letter or drive path" option.
After setting the partition allocation method, click the “Next” button to display the formatted page of the partition. The user needs to format the newly created partition.

To make the partition available, the user must format the partition. Here, select the "Format this volume" option as follows, and you can make a series of settings:
---File System The file system refers to the underlying file system format. Users can use NTFS and FAT32, and follow the default NTFS file system.
---Assignment unit size: This option is used to set the allocation unit, that is, set the size of "cluster". If this file will store a large file size, the user can set this option to a larger size. The settings can have better disk performance; if you are using a smaller file size, you can set this option to a smaller size, and the appropriate settings can save space. In general, you can follow the default values.
---Volume label: The volume label refers to the partition name, such as the usual “local disk”, “Local Disk”, etc., users can set it themselves.
---Execute Quick Format: Check this option to finish partition formatting faster. It can create a new file table without completely erasing the contents of the hard disk (for newly purchased files) There is no erasure of the disk).
---Enable file and file compression: Check this option if the file system selected by the user is “NTFS”.
After setting the formatting options, click the “Next” button to display the completion page of the "New Simple Volume Wizard". The settings for creating partitions selected by the user will be displayed here, as shown below:

Click the “Previous” button to return to the appropriate steps to reset. After confirming the error, click the “Complete" button and the system will create a partition for the physical disk. When the partition is created, the system will automatically connect to the new partition. It will be possible to display the dialog shown in the figure. The user can select the operation or close the dialog box as needed.

Compressing the total space of the C drive
loadTOCNode(2, "summary"); In some cases it may be necessary to adjust the total capacity of the C drive, such as the pre-installed Windows 7 operating system just purchased. notebook. If there is only one C drive partition, and the capacity of the partition is large, resulting in less space for other allocable disks, you can solve the problem by using the "Compression" function in the disk management tool.
Select the C drive partition in the disk management interface, and right click to select the "Compress Volume" option;

At this time, the disk tool will automatically check the space selected by the selected partition for use. Time and computer hardware performance and disk space;

After the check is completed, the "Compression" dialog box will display the total size of the current partition, the space available for compression, and the space to be compressed. And the total size after compression;

By default, the disk management tool will automatically fill in the maximum space available for compression in the “Enter Compressed Space” input box, which can be changed by yourself. Click the "Compress" button after determining the amount of space to compress and the disk management tool will compress the partition.
After a moment, you can see the compressed partition and the unallocated space released by the compressed partition, the size is equal to the amount of compressed space set during compression.
