How to search for files better on Win7?

  
1. Click the “Start” button, then click “documents”,<;music” or“image”.
2. In the Library pane (above the file list), click the “ Arrange menu" menu and click an attribute. The available properties will vary depending on the library you are in.

When searching in a library, you can use search filters to quickly narrow down your search results.

1. Click the “Start” button, then click “Documents”.
2. Click the search box at the top of the window, select a search filter (for example: “Modify Date”), and then click an item (for example, date or date range) to narrow your search.
3. If necessary, type one or more words into the search box to further narrow your search.
4. In the search results, click on the desired file and then click the "Preview" pane button to preview the file and make sure it is exactly what you are looking for.
Include the folder in the photo gallery
Assuming you store a part of the image in the pc and another part of the image in the external hard drive, you can include the folder in the external hard drive in the photo library, so that Access all images as a collection of images.
1. Click the “Start” button, click “pc”, and then go to the folder stored on your external hard drive.
2. Right-click on the folder, point to “included in the library", and then click “image”. The image in your drive is now in the gallery.

Changing the settings of the library
You can customize the general behavior of the library by changing the location of the library save file and the order in which the library locations are displayed.
1. Click the “Start” button, then click “Document”,“Music” or“Image”.
2. In the Library pane (above the file list), next to “Include”, click “Location”, then do one of the following:
· To change those Copy or save the location of the file to the library, right-click the library location that is not currently the default save location, and then click “set as the default save location”.

· To change the order in which the library locations are displayed, right-click on a location and click “Upward” or “Downdown”.
