How to disable Windows Messenger self-starting

  
Under normal circumstances, we will not use Windows Messenger as soon as we start the system, its operation will take up memory space and consume system resources. If you don't want Windows Messenger to start with the system or OE boot, you can disable it in the following way.
System Configuration Utility Method
Click “Start”| “Run”, type ““msconfig” in the run dialog box (Figure 1)

Enter the “System Configuration Utility” dialog box after the carriage return. Then click the “Start” tab, and in the “Start project” list box, remove the checkmark from the check box in the “msmsgs” option (Figure 2), click the “OK” button. , restart your computer.

Group Policy Settings Method
Click “Start”| “Run”, type ““gpedit.msc” in the Run dialog box (Figure 3)

Open the Group Policy Editor. Expand “‘Local Computer & rsquo;Strategy>| “Computer Configuration”| “Administrative template”| “Windows components”| "Windows Messenger" option (Figure 4)

Then double-click in the right window "Do not allow Windows Messenger", in the properties window that appears, select “ Enabled & rdquo; (Figure 5 ), click “OK”

Registry setting method
Click “Start”| “Run”, type ““Regedit” in the run dialog (Figure 6)

Enter the registry editor after the carriage return. Expand the following branches in order: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/
Windows/CurrentVersion/Run (Figure 7), delete the “msmsgs” key in the right pane.

Uninstall Windows Messenger
If you are sure that Windows Messenger is no longer needed, you can uninstall it to prevent it from running automatically, which will also free up some disk space.
Open the resource manager, navigate to the directory "C:/Windows/Inf"; (where C is the partition letter of the system, please modify it yourself) to find the "sysoc.inf" file (note that the file is hidden) Attribute), open it with Notepad program, find "msmsgs=msgrocm.dll, OcEntry, msmsgs.inf, hide, 7" in the "Components" section (Figure 8)

Delete “hide,” typeface, save and exit. Next, open “Control Panel"" "Add/Remove Programs" in the window that appears, click “Add/Remove Windows Components>, remove the checkmark before the “Windows Messenger" option (Figure 9 ), click the “Next” button so that you can delete Windows Messenger.
