Windows 7 disk configuration tips to improve disk usage

Usually when you use the Win7 operating system, when you right-click on the disk [Properties], you will see a [Quota] option. Some users may never think about what this is. In fact, this function is very useful. If a computer has multiple users, then you can freely put things on the local disk. There may be some garbage files that are not used up or used. Over time, the remaining space on the local disk will become smaller and smaller, until it is full, which greatly reduces the efficiency of disk usage. If you don't want other users to put things on the local disk, you can use [quota] to manage and specify the space value that other users can use, thus avoiding the waste of disk space and greatly improving the disk utilization. Next, I will tell you about the use of quotas. Steps:
1. Open the [Computer] right-click [Properties] of a disk that needs to be quotad, as shown below:

2. Click [Enable Quota Management] and [Reject Disk Space to Exceed Quota Restricted users], careful friends will find that under the [Disk Space Limit] option, a [Warning Level] option, after setting, when the user exceeds the warning level in the process of using disk space, the system will prompt the user to The file exceeded the warning level in the disk quota. As shown below:

At this time, all quota options can be selected. Then select the [Disk Space Limit] option, then we can specify the size of the disk space used by the user in the system, here I set the quota of a local user named jack to 1GB. So if the user is passed in the partition A file larger than 1GB will be rejected by the system and cannot be successfully transferred to the partition. First, click [quota], the user input jack, point to determine
as shown below:

when after the completion of these configuration options settings, click OK window After exiting the button, the jack can only put no more than 1GB into the disk. When the jack user logs in, the disk space will be displayed in this state, as shown in the figure:

There is only 1GB of space, now I am going inside. Let's see what happens when we put more than space, as shown in the figure:

The result system will refuse to put files into it, so it will successfully prevent files from entering the disk. Some people will ask, save before. Will the files be lost? Of course not, the files inside will not be released and can be used normally. The Disk Cleanup option simply lets you clean up junk files.
3. Users in the Administrators group can't save more files than quotas. Next, I use a member of the Administrators group user login, the quota is set to 8KB, as shown below:

can see or rejected, some people ask, is not all Can you change the quota arbitrarily, then this quota is the same? Of course, this is not the case. Only members of the administrator group have permission to set quotas. For example, I use the jack user who has not joined the administrator group to change it, as shown below:

The system prompts you to enter the administrator's password. So not all users can change the quota arbitrarily.
Okay, the use of quotas will be introduced to everyone here. You may wish to try it. This is very useful for improving the efficiency of computer disk space. Reasonable planning and avoiding waste of resources. I have to say that Microsoft has already made it for everyone. I am very thoughtful!
