Windows 7 comes with software to complete partition size management

There are users who ask how much capacity the Windows 7 partition needs and how to adjust the system partition after installation. Indeed, after Vista, the system partition requires more space than the previous system; for those who are new to Windows7, they still need to explore. And some people are not familiar with the Windows 7 partitioning program, and even the entire hard disk is a partition. This article uses an example to explain the use of Windows7's own software to complete the partition to reduce the creation and expansion work.

Step1 Enter the system management interface. Find "Computer" in the Start menu → right click on "Computer" and select "Manage" → enter "Disk Management" in the storage.

Step2 compresses existing partitions. Find the hard disk you need to adjust, you can see the graphical partition diagram. Right click on the partition that needs to be reduced → select “Compress Volume” → the software will automatically calculate the size that can be compressed. If the compressible value is small, it is best to defragment first → enter a compressed value and click “Compress”. After the operation is completed, "unallocated space" will appear at the back of the original partition.

Step3 Create a new partition. Right click on "Unallocated Space" and select "New Simple Volume" → Follow the wizard to enter the volume size (partition capacity), drive number, partition format and other parameters and click "Finish". Friendly reminder, suggesting to quickly format the format can speed up the formatting.

Step4 Adjust the size of the partition. Windows 7 comes with disk management can also be used to adjust the size of the partition. Then right click on the next volume and select "Extended Volume". However, this extension is a bit weak and can only extend the partition before the unallocated space.
