On May 20th, Microsoft (China) today released a security test on the market for pirated Windows 7 copies by Zhongda Jinqiao. The report showed that 93% of the samples tested were potentially dangerous.


During the test, Zhongda Jinqiao collected pirated Windows 7 CDs from various cities including Beijing, Shenyang, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Haikou and purchased and downloaded pirated Windows 7 CDs. A total of 97 copies of the image were installed and tested. The results showed that 39% of the copies could not be installed, or there were malicious programs such as viruses and Trojans; 54% of the pirated copies made different modifications to the operating system, including turning off the firewall. Turn off system recovery and Windows updates, and lower your browser's security level settings.

Wei Qing, general manager of Microsoft China Consumer and Online Business Unit, said, "The various versions of pirated Windows 7 collected are eye-opening, but this time it is determined to use it as a research project and let engineers all over the world. Collecting pirated software, one by one, to try, and found a lot of problems."

Wei Qing said that the survey found that the most common risks of using pirated Windows 7 include: unable to install properly, containing viruses And the Trojan, the operating system was deleted, the system core file and the registry were changed, resulting in system instability, inability to activate, and so on.
