Foreign media: It takes an hour to install Windows 7 completely

The Windows 7 operating system launched by Microsoft at the end of October has been eye-catching and looking forward to the audience before the IPO. However, like the past Windows system, in just two months, the complaint about Windows 7 has been rolled over. .

According to CNNMoney, iYogi, India's largest online computer technology service provider, recently surveyed 100,000 Windows 7 users, indicating that up to 31% of users said they had difficulty operating or upgrading. Iyogi founder Vishal Dhar said: "The majority of these users' problems are Windows 7, installation, application or data transfer. In fact, these are all problems that can be solved, but it is very cumbersome and time-consuming to resolve."

The most common complaint is that the installation time is too long. For example, 9% of users responded that it took half an hour to an hour to install Windows 7, often the system stopped after 62% installed.

Microsoft also noticed this problem and said that restarting the computer and advanced settings, after entering the code, the error will be resolved.

However, the problem with Windows 7 did not stop there. Even if Windows 7 is successfully installed on the computer, many users will encounter many problems.

In addition, Windows 7 also causes some basic applications to have error messages from time to time, such as the disappearance of mail, image processing or photo library. The cause is that Windows 7 will automatically delete these programs, so users must re-download and install them on the WindowsLive website. Iyogi pointed out that 26% of users are confused about such redundant procedures.

Some people are also troubled by the inability of the computer to function properly. 8% of users said that they could not find the DVD drive, and 2% of users could not update their iPhone simultaneously.

1/7 users also complain that the new WindowsAero user interface is not working smoothly. Aero is the best-designed user interface in Microsoft Windows, and transparent glass effects give users a better application experience. However, the iYogi survey pointed out that about 14% of users are unable to use Aero successfully.

Other common complaints include the inability to view file extensions, too many auto-generated files, Aero snap feature errors, customizable icons, and new worklist issues.

Microsoft has not commented on this report. However, once these vulnerabilities are improved through system upgrades, it is believed that these problems will be reduced.

Dhar said that once the problem is improved, users will eventually fall in love with Windows 7, and Windows 7 is much more sensitive than XP.

However, Zeuskerravala, an analyst at Yankee Group, also said that one of the biggest problems with Windows 7 is that the computer interface has been redesigned, so users who are familiar with the old arrangement must relearn.

In addition, Microsoft has also abolished many popular applications, such as Windows Movie Maker.

However, these complaints about Windows 7 and the anger caused by previous Windows Vista are simply awkward. The Vista system, which went on sale in 2007, was a complete disaster.

It's not only slow, software incompatible, but also annoying security alerts. This incident almost destroyed Microsoft's reputation and consumer confidence.

Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, said that although Windows 7 has some minor mistakes, it is not too serious. At least some Vista users can't wait to install Windows 7.
