Microsoft did not pay attention to the Windows 7 upgrade failure due to piracy reasons?

According to foreign media reports, some time ago, the upgrade of Windows 7 caused friction between Microsoft and consumers; analysts said that this is mainly due to the communication and trust between Microsoft and consumers. On October 22, Microsoft introduced Windows 7, and many XP users encountered a lot of problems when performing the "net installation" of Windows 7. In this regard, Microsoft pointed out that users can perform a "net installation" of Windows 7 on the basis of Windows XP, but only if the personal computer has a hard disk drive. The user who performs the upgrade installation must be executed on the basis of the original Windows license.

At present, the Windows operating system occupies a major share of the global market, about 90%. As a result, many users are frustrated when they fail to perform a Windows 7 upgrade.

So far, Microsoft has not officially provided users with a reasonable solution. Many users are very angry about Microsoft's indifference.

According to the person in charge of Microsoft, the endless restart issue is not the primary concern of Microsoft. Currently, in the list of issues that Microsoft is concerned about, the top ones are "How do users choose to upgrade", "How to upgrade from XP to Windows 7", "How to perform a Windows 7 upgrade of a netbook", and most importantly, "Applications" Lost problem."

Microsoft often says that the main competitor of Windows is pirated Windows. Currently, about half of the software used by users in developing countries is pirated, especially in China. Therefore, Microsoft's reluctance to provide solutions to pirated Windows users is justifiable.

In fact, the impact of pirated software on Microsoft's revenue is not great. The upgrade price of Windows 7 Home Hardcover is about $80 cheaper than the full retail version, while the upgrade price of Windows 7 Professional is more complete than retail. It is about $100 cheaper.

Washington analyst Paul DeGroot said that some users will play games between systems, choosing a cheaper upgrade instead of the full Windows 7 retail version. However, in fact, the more users who purchase the Windows 7 upgrade, the more profit Microsoft has. Windows 7 can run on older hardware. If Microsoft lowers the price of Windows 7, then there will be a lot of hardware that users upgrade too slowly.

DeGroot pointed out that because Microsoft can profit from the new PC sales, Vista may not be able to successfully run on the old hardware, so Microsoft's financial revenue in the previous two years is not satisfactory.

Bob Nitrio, CEO of Ranvest Associates, said that at present, the biggest problem between Microsoft and users is trust. Microsoft does not believe in consumers and partners who are experiencing Windows 7 upgrade issues. To some extent, Microsoft should trust their customers, not all of them as pirated users.
