Data talk: October Windows7 share exceeds the sum of Linux and Snow Leopard

After the release of Windows 7, the sales situation is good, and the market share is also climbing. As a competitor, Apple Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" has been available for nearly three months, and Ubuntu 9.10 is the latest release. Let's take a look at the global operating system market distribution in October 2009.

The Windows family still dominates with a 92.52% share, but it is the only negative growth compared to a 0.25 percentage point drop in September. Mac OS climbed 0.15 percentage points, now 5.27%, while Linux increased by 0.01 percentage points, still only 0.96%.

While Windows 7 was officially launched at the end of October, even this share has reached 2.15%, while Snow Leopard has only 1.17%. That is to say, the share of Windows 7 is 0.02 percentage points more than Snow Leopard and Linux add up. By the time of the end of November, the advantages of Windows7 will certainly continue to expand.
