Let Windows 7 Media Center support more file formats and folders

In Media Center, media files are divided into three categories: "My Video", "My Pictures", and "My Music". This article concludes with Media Center supporting more media formats in these three categories.

"My Pictures"

The content in "My Pictures" defaults to the pictures in the "Pictures" folder of the system. You can add other folders you need.

The list of folders added by the user is saved in the "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionMedia CenterMediaFoldersImage" item in the registry. MediaCenter's Add Delete File Plus feature does not see the "My Documents" folder. If you want to add a subfolder of "My Documents", you can create a new one in this registry location. Pay attention to the “FolderCount” item, which saves the number of custom folders to be displayed. After adding the folder you want, you need to modify this value accordingly.
