One of the places where Windows systems have been widely criticized is that there are too many versions, so many people don’t know how to choose. After experiencing Vista, the industry generally hopes that Microsoft can make a streamlined version on Windows 7, but the results are disappointing: Microsoft officially announced the version of Windows 7 today, as much as Vista, but only with the professional version. Replaced the commercial version, but did not see the netbook-specific version.

The first is "Windows 7 Starter", which can only run up to three applications at the same time, can join the Home Group, the taskbar has no small changes, and there is also the JumpLists menu.

Next is "Windows 7 Home Basic" (Home Basic Edition) and "Windows 7 Home Premium" (Home Premium), the same as Vista. The former is only used in emerging market countries. The main new features are unlimited applications, real-time thumbnail preview, enhanced visual experience (still no Aero), advanced network support (ad-hoc wireless network and Internet connection support ICS), mobile center (Mobility) Center).

The latter includes Aero Glass's advanced interface, advanced window navigation, improved media format support, media center and media stream enhancements (including Play To), multi-touch, better handwriting recognition and more.

The XP era of the professional version is back "Windows 7 Professional", replacing the commercial version under Vista, support for data management functions such as management network (Domain Join), advanced network backup and encrypted file system, location Perceptual printing technology (can automatically select the right printer on the home or office network).

Finally, "Windows 7 Enterprise" (Enterprise Edition) and "Windows 7 Ultimate" (Flagship), has the most complete features: BitLocker, built-in and external drive data protection; AppLocker, lock non Authorized software runs; DirectAccess, seamlessly connects to Windows Server 2008 R2-based enterprise networks; BranchCache, Windows Server 2008 R2 network cache; and more.

According to Microsoft, the Starter version is aimed at price-sensitive small notebooks and some OEMs (possibly including netbooks), and the home base version is only used in emerging markets (presumably to avoid lawsuits), small business customers. Optional Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition for large and medium-sized customers who have signed a Software Assurance Agreement with Microsoft.

In addition, Microsoft recommends that most consumers choose the Home Premium Edition. Professional features are required for more features and features. Most commercial customers can install the Professional Edition. The preferred choice for large and medium-sized companies and enterprises is naturally Enterprise version.
