Win7/Vista/XP browser automatically opens after downloading compressed files

  

Question: Many friends have encountered such a problem. When using a browser to download compressed files such as ZIP or RAR, there is no "download dialog", but the compressed file is opened directly. This is quite inconvenient for saving the file. Is there any way to solve it?

Analysis: In fact, all downloaded files will be saved in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder when they are downloaded. After downloading, save them to the specified location. If you accidentally cancel the check box in the "Always ask before opening such file" option in the download dialog box, it will be opened directly after the download is completed using the program associated with this file type. Therefore, the download dialog does not appear.

However, the processing methods under XP, Vista and Windows7 are different. Let's look at it separately:

1, if you are a Windows XP system:

Open "Folder Options" in the Control Panel, click to switch to the "File Type" tab in the window that opens, click on the ZIP or RAR file in the selected list, as shown below:
