Windows7 activation information backup method from Vista method

The following method is used by Vista, and can also be used in 2008, but Windows 7 is still unknown.

According to the activation mechanism of Windows Vista, if we reinstall the system of the computer that has already activated the system, we need to reconnect the network to activate the system to use normally. Although network activation is not a very troublesome thing, what if your computer can't connect to the Internet?

The official method provided by Microsoft is to activate by phone. We need to call Microsoft's automatic telephone system and input a series of installation IDs generated by the system to get the corresponding activation code.

In fact, we can completely activate the system by backing up the activation files in the activated system and restoring them to the reinstalled system. It can completely get rid of the network and not have to make a call.

First, back up the activation files in the activated system before reinstalling the system.

The files that need to be backed up are very simple, only two:

%windir%\\System32\\licensing\\pkeyconfig\\pkeyconfig.xrm-ms
%windir%\\ServiceProfiles\\NetworkService\\AppData \\Roaming\\Microsoft\\SoftwareLicensing\\tokens.dat

It should be noted that when entering the two directories of NetworkService and SoftwareLicensing, you need to upgrade to administrator privileges to access.

Then, just reinstall the system. Do not enter the serial number or connect any network during the installation of the system. It is best to temporarily unplug the network cable connected to the computer.

Finally, it is to restore the activation file we backed up.

Then enter "regedt32" in the "Run" command of the start menu, open the registry editor, and import the reg file just saved into the registry through the "File -> Import" command in the menu. This is done to make it easy for us to take ownership of some protected system files. Without ownership, we can't recover the backed up files.

Next, open "Services" in the "Administrative Tools" of "Control Panel", find "Software Licensing" in it, click the stop button on the toolbar to stop it. After that, we can copy the two files we backed up in advance to their original location.

Re-open the "Software Licensing" service that you just stopped, enter "slmgr.vbs –ipk your system serial number" in the "Run" command and run it. After a while, you can see the system. A prompt that was successfully activated.

Ok, then restart the system, now you can pick up the network cable that was unplugged when you installed the system, and use the system that has been reactivated.

This method can also be applied to Windows 2008 Server series systems.
