Easy to get WinXP can not remote login problem

My friend’s computer had a glitch and asked me to go to his house to help him fix it. But my and his operating system are both Windows XP. This system has the function of remote login. Why not use remote login to help friends repair the computer? First, I enter the remote computer's IP address \\\\192.xxx.xxx.xx to access his shared directory. I am prompted to enter the username and password to verify the identity, but the username dialog box in the verification dialog box is grayed out.
Strange, how can it be gray?

What is going on here? It is estimated that the network firewall was installed before, and the sharing settings of the local account are closed, and it needs to be reopened.

First start the policy group, then select "Local account sharing and security mode" in the Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - Security Options - Network Access, "only guest - local users Since the guest authentication, change to "classic - local users authenticate themselves", so the user name box in the dialog box can be selected. But this modification is a bit lacking, that is, the other party needs to know your username and password. If the other party has its own Administrator account, you can have full access to your computer, so you have to use another method.

Local users authenticate themselves

The "Local Account Sharing and Security Mode" option is not modified here, or the default "Guest-Local User Only Guest Authentication" is used. First open the GUEST account in the "User Account" of the Control Panel. Note that the best password should not be empty.

The password cannot be empty!

Then select Computer Configuration in the Policy Group - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - User Rights Assignment - Deny access to this machine from the network, see if there is GUEST, if any GUEST can be removed.

Remove GUEST account

If you have not set a password for the GUEST account before, you should select "Use blank" in Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - Security Options - Account. The password account only allows local login", and the selection here is disabled.
