Microsoft acknowledges the key issue of Windows 7 special product leakage

According to an article published by Alex Kochis, director of Microsoft's genuine Windows, on the blog, Windows 7 RTM (released by the manufacturer) has a problem with "special product key leakage."

This confirms that the market whisper last Tuesday was not groundless. At that time, the network was rumored that Microsoft gave it to Lenovo's Windows 7 RTM ISO document. The master key -- used to verify the serial number of the genuine software -- has been leaked and circulated on the Internet.

Kochis wrote in a blog post: "This key is for the Windows 7 Ultimate RTM product and is pre-installed on the new PC by the OEM for shipment later this year. Therefore, this key It must be paired with the PC from the manufacturer before it can be used. We have worked with that manufacturer to determine that customers who purchase genuine Windows 7 from this manufacturer will not encounter any problems with Windows 7 verification. We remind consumers who use the leak key to note that they are not using genuine Windows. It is important to note that no commercially available PC will use this key."

In other words, hacked The key will still work, but if the Windows 7 computer installed with the key is connected to the Microsoft download and update website, it may be identified.

Kochis pointed out that Windows 7 includes an improved piracy detection mechanism that alerts consumers when it detects a leaked version of a consumer or other hacked version. "Do not be a victim of ignorance, because customers who use pirated software are more likely to be exposed to the dangers of malware and identity fraud."

According to personal opinion, ISO has been outflowing. I don't think Microsoft can do anything at this moment. It can only wait for the computer with pirated Windows 7 to connect to the widget update server. At the same time, Microsoft can issue another key to the OEM to determine that they are not using the outflow key, and expect consumers to pay the full price to buy genuine.

It may be necessary to wait for the release of the Windows 7 service pack to determine that the key issue has been resolved. At the same time, this outflow of the product key may still cause big problems, especially if the hacker modifies the ISO and resells it, the consumer may buy the pirated software until it is detected that it is not genuine.
