Optimize the virtual memory of Win7 system

The performance of a computer depends mainly on the CPU, memory and hard disk. In order to improve system performance, win7 uses virtual memory technology (ie page file, Pagefile.sys under the root directory of the system disk) file). By default, the virtual memory in win7 is always set to compare people. In order to reduce the waste of disk space and not affect the system performance, we should optimize it.

Step 1: Use the right mouse button to click “My Computer” and select the “Properties” command in the shortcut menu that pops up to open the “System Properties” window.

Step 2: Switch to the "Advanced" tab, click the "Settings" button in the "Performance" column, open the "Performance Options" window, and then switch to “ The Advanced & rdquo; tab is shown in Figure 1.

Step 3: Click the "Change" button in the "Virtual Memory" column to first determine which page file is in the Open "Virtual Memory" window Drive, then disable all page files in other drives, then set the initial size and maximum value of the page file, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 4: After setting, click the “Set” button to apply the settings, then click the <;OK" button to save and exit.

Tip: It is recommended to enter the same value in the text box of "Initial Size" and "Maximum". If the physical memory is less than 512MB, it is recommended to set the virtual memory to 1.5 to 2 times the physical memory. If the physical memory is greater than 512MB, it is recommended to set the virtual memory to be the same as the physical memory.
