Disable all settings of Win7 Active Desktop

  

This setting deletes all “ActiveDesktop” items from win7 desktop, and deletes the Web tab from the “Display” setting item of "Control Panel" Users cannot add web pages or screens to the desktop from the Internet or intranet.

Step 1: Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\ActiveDesktop subkey in the Registry Editor.

Step 2: In the right window, find or create a DWORD value item named "NoComponents", set its value to “0”, to disable this setting; set its value For “1”, this setting is enabled, as shown below.


Step 3: Close the Registry Editor and restart the Windows 7 system, the settings will take effect.

Tip: This setting does not disable “ActiveDesktop", users can still use image formats (such as JPEG and GIF) for desktop wallpaper.
