Win7 system security lossless adjustment partition size detailed tutorial

Nowadays, many new laptops, such as THINKPAD, have only one partition for one hard disk. It is not very convenient to manage files. Then, how do we adjust the partition size? How to divide the hard disk into several areas? In fact, it is very simple, you don't need to use other partitioning software, just use the system's own virtual disk manager to safely and quickly adjust the partition size.

1. How to open the disk management program that comes with the system:

1) Start —— run, enter compmgmt.msc.

2) Right-click on the desktop "My Computer“, select & rdquo; Manage“, open a window, find and click & ldquo; Disk Management”.

Here we can see the details of each partition on the local disk, such as size, whether the active partition is the primary partition, etc., and partition C has more than 400 phase G, obviously too big , then we must compress the capacity of partition C, and adjust the capacity to other partitions. It is recommended that it is generally appropriate to divide into four partitions. C disk as the system disk, D disk as the system backup disk, E disk and F disk to see the situation.

2. Right-click and select Partition C. In the pop-up menu, select “Compress Volume”. As the name suggests, compressing a volume is to reduce capacity, and expanding a volume is to increase the capacity of a partition.

3, the amount of input compression space: here refers to the capacity of the C drive to be resized to allocate to other partitions, that is, the capacity to be subtracted. For example, if the original C drive has 500G, and you are ready to adjust the C drive to 100G, then you enter 409600 (1G=1024M) in the “Enter the amount of compressed space” column. The total size after compression: that is, the original capacity minus the compressed capacity, that is, the adjusted capacity. Once you have entered it correctly, click “Compress ”.

4. After the compression is completed, as shown in the figure, unallocated space appears.

5. Right-click to select unallocated space and select “New Simple Volume from the pop-up menu.

6. New Simple Volume Wizard:

Enter the capacity of the volume in the Volume Size column: for example, if you want to set the D drive capacity to 50G Then enter 51203. Why do you want to input a fraction? Because the system file also takes up a part of the capacity, except the capacity occupied by the system files, is the capacity that you actually use. Therefore, if you want the available capacity to be an integer, you have to add a few more M to the input capacity.

Click Next after entering it correctly.

7. Assign the drive letter and path, which is the drive letter we usually see. The drop-down box can select the drive letter. Here we choose D.

8. Format Partition:

Select NTFS for the file system, select the default value for the allocation unit size, and perform a quick format.

After the formatting is complete, you can see that there is a 50G partition D, which is called the D drive.

9. The operations of partitions E and F are the same as those of D. The partition is as follows after the operation is completed.

Note: You can only operate adjacent partitions, whether they are extended or compressed. For example, a C drive can give a D drive, but a C drive cannot directly give an E drive.
