System Download Solution for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Options

There is no option to download Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) when using Windows Update to check for updates. Cause: 1. Windows SP1 is installed, or a pre-release version of Windows 7 SP1 is not uninstalled. 2. Other updates must be installed first, and Windows 7 SP1 will be available. 3. The program on your computer is blocking the installation of Windows 7 SP1. 4. The system files required to install Windows 7 SP1 are missing from the computer. Solution: Method One Verify that Windows 7 SP1 is not installed and that there is no pre-release version of Windows 7 SP1 running 1. Click “Start”, right-click “computer", and then click “Properties". 2. Check the “Windows version” section: a. If “Service Pack 1” is listed, it means that Windows 7 SP1 is already installed on your computer. b. If the version number (such as v.153 or v.720) is listed after "Service Pack 1", it means that a pre-release version of Windows 7 SP1 is still installed on your computer. The pre-release version must be uninstalled before Windows Update will provide a release of SP1. Method 2 Check if the system has installed “Update 976902”, Windows 7 SP1 will be available in Windows Update 1. Click “Start” and then “Start All”, “All Programs” and “Windows Update”. 2. In the navigation pane, click “View update history” and wait for Windows to find the updates that your computer has installed. 3. If the check does not find the update, click “Check for updates', and then click Update “Install Updates. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or confirm it. 4. When the installation is complete, if you are prompted to restart your computer, please restart. 5. Check Windows Update again to see if Windows 7 SP1 is now available.
