One button quickly makes the computer sleep

When the computer needs to be on standby for a long time or idle, what preparations do you make to the computer? I think most people will choose to switch the computer to standby or hibernation, and some may directly screen save. In fact, these methods are designed to let the computer itself save power as much as possible without any operation, and let the machine rest.

Starting from Windows XP, Windows no longer provides a sleep button by default. We can only press the Shift key in the shutdown window to make "standby" "sleep" to make it sleep.

And after Vista and Windows 7, the "hibernate" feature has been greatly enhanced and more user-friendly, but it is still a bit cumbersome, the user needs only the sleep function done in two clicks. There are also many ways to patch or modify the registry from the network to achieve "one-button sleep", but the average user will crash when the settings are modified.

The author will introduce a method that comes with Windows 7 system today. After setting it, press a shortcut key to quickly make the computer sleep and share it with everyone.

On the Windows 7 desktop, right-click the property to create a new shortcut, and at the prompt object location, type the location where we need to create the shortcut program, enter "rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState Hibernate" Go to the space and click Next.

Set a new shortcut for our new shortcut, name it "Hibernate", click the Finish button to complete the first step of the new shortcut operation.

In the first step, we have created a new "hibernate" shortcut. Now we only need to double-click to run the "hibernate" program, the computer system will automatically enter the black screen and sleep.

In this case, we can also set a shortcut button for this shortcut, that is, define a physical button on the keyboard, and when we press the defined button, the computer will automatically pass Start the "hibernation" program on the desktop to enter the hibernation state, so that the user is more convenient when using it.

In the "Hibernate" property of the right-click pop-up, we see that under the "Shortcuts" tab, there is a "shortcut" button, where the user can choose the keyboard based on his own usage habits. After a button, click "Apply" to complete the setup.

Summary: When you need to go out for an hour or two and then come back to sleep, it is very convenient to save power and make the computer enter the rest. In the standby state, the current data is saved in the memory, so only the memory is supplied with power. This mode is characterized by a recovery time that is shorter than the sleep state when waking up.

Hibernation is to temporarily save the data in the memory to the hard disk, and then cut off the power of the memory. Most of the components' power is cut off during sleep. Therefore, it will save more power in the sleep state.
