MED-V Limitations and Solution Components for IE Virtualization under Windows 7

Although MED-V is the most stable and scalable of Microsoft's virtualization solutions, it is also the most expensive. of. In addition, you must first install a virtual device. If the virtual device is not running, it will take some time to install IE 6 when IE 6 is initialized.

MED-V requires important facilities to be effectively addressed. It requires you to manage an additional operating system, which means additional software to save, patch, and disinfect. However, MED-V comes with management tools to help with increased storage. You can patch your old operating system with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

MED-V does not work through Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) in virtualized operating systems. VDI clients are already virtualized, so they cannot support a virtual instance. This means that if you use VDI as your user desktop, you can't support MED-V.

MED-V includes the following components:

1. Define management virtual device

This virtual appliance contains a complete desktop environment, including an operating system, applications, and optional management and security tools.

2. Image Repository

This image repository stores all virtual images on a standard IIS server and enables virtual image version management, client authentication image retrieval, and efficient downloading (download new Image or update).

3. Management Server

For Active Directory Users or Groups, the Management Server combines virtual images from the Image Repository with administrative usage policies. The management server also aggregates customer activities and stores them in an external database (Microsoft SQL Server) for monitoring and reporting purposes.

4. Management Console

The Management Console makes it possible to manage the server and image repository.

. Clients

Applications installed in virtual devices are seamlessly used through the standard desktop start menu and combined with other applications on the user's desktop. .
