Windows 7 system file icon thumbnails are not displayed. Solution

When browsing pictures or video files in Windows 7, sometimes icons and thumbnails will not display properly. Usually, if this is not poisoned, it is nine out of ten. There is a problem with the relevant cache file. Here is a screenshot of the cache exception:

By the way, the thumbnails that are displayed when you browse the file are generally stored in the cache folder. It's convenient to browse faster next time, but sometimes the cache file will crash, then you need to rebuild the cache file.

Rebuilding Windows 7 Thumbnail Cache Method:

1. Type "Disk Cleanup" in the Start Search field and press Enter to open the Disk Cleanup Tool.

2. Select the system disk drive letter. (Here, take system disk C as an example)

3. Now all you need to do is check the “Thumbnails” item in the “Files to delete” column. Then, confirm the deletion.

Rebuild Windows 7 Thumbnail Cache Method 2:

1. Enter the following address in the address bar and press Enter.

%USERPROFILE%\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Explorer

2. Depending on the size of the icon, the following four .db files are stored in the folder. Please have them all. Delete it.

thumbcache_32.db

thumbcache_96.db

thumbcache_256.db

thumbcache_1024.db

After clearing these icon caches, Open the file and the thumbnail should be back to normal.
